Through its worldwide prominence, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has had an impact on events that affect communities locally and around the world. Local chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi participate in community outreach to feed the homeless, provide scholarships to young people matriculating to college, serve as mentors to young men, participate in blood drives, and serve as hosts of seminars for public health awareness to name a few.
Within the March of Dimes partnership, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi are committed to working with us to bring awareness to their members of the importance of maternal health, mental health for men, and giving back to their communities.
With increased preterm birth rates and racial/ethnic disparities, the need is vital throughout the U.S. By working in cooperation with one another, Kappa Alpha Psi members will participate in March for Babies, advocate for moms and babies, and promote programs and campaigns that positively impact families and improve health equity. In 2022, they hosted a national Top Golf Tournament to raise critical funds for March of Dimes as well as participated in March for Babies.
Accomplishments
With this partnership, members of Kappa Alpha Psi participate in a host of activities such as fundraising for March for Babies, engaging in various awareness events (especially in the month of November to commemorate Prematurity Awareness Month), and educating members as well as the community about mental health, post-partum depression, and many other issues that families face today.
