Our mission
March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. Today, we're striving to end maternal health risks and death, end preventable preterm birth and infant death, and close the health equity gap. The maternal and infant health crisis is real—but so is our impact. From providing access to quality health care to mobilizing our community to create lasting change for moms and babies, we're ensuring families can get the best possible start.
Key areas of focus
• Dismantle racism and address unequal treatment
• Increase access to high quality healthcare
• Build safe and connected communities
Mission in action
• NICU Family Support® is a premiere program for neonatal intensive care units (NICU). We’re proud to partner with Miller Children’s Hospital, Cedars-Sinai, and Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
• Provide NICU families with essential items and engaging baby showers at local hospitals across the Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire areas.
• Advocacy: March of Dimes policy priorities focus on three main areas: Increase Access to Quality Healthcare, Support Healthy Women and Babies, Improve Research and Surveillance.
Prepare for emergencies to ensure you and your family have the resources and support needed before, during, and after a disaster.
As wildfires continue to threaten the Los Angeles area, March of Dimes stands with families navigating this crisis. Moms and babies are among the most vulnerable during disasters, and we’re committed to ensuring they have the care and resources they need. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all who have been affected.
To support relief efforts for displaced families, March of Dimes has donated $10,000 to the National Diaper Bank and Baby2Baby in Los Angeles. Additional supplies, including diapers, onesies, and other essentials, have been distributed to families who need them most. Together with partners like Baby2Baby, the National Diaper Bank Network, and Fanatics, we’re making a difference for families impacted by these fires.
At the same time, our annual March for Babies campaign continues its mission to address the ongoing maternal and infant health crisis. Funds raised support vital programs that provide care and advocacy for all families, including those affected by the wildfires. Every dollar helps ensure moms and babies receive the support they need, during crises and beyond.
We’re grateful for our partners during this critical time, including:
• The National Diaper Bank Network, which ensures every child, family, and individual in the US has access to basic essentials needed to thrive.
• Baby2Baby, based in Los Angeles, which provides diapers, clothing, and necessities to children living in poverty.
• Fanatics and the Fanatics Foundation, which are hosting distribution events at Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and BMO Stadium to provide mom and baby supplies to families displaced by the fires.
