• During 2011-2013 (average), the infant mortality rate (per 1,000 live births) in Rhode Island was highest for black infants (9.4), followed by Asian/Pacific Islanders (7.6), Hispanics (7.2) and whites (5.0). 
• Black infants (9.4) were about 2 times as likely as white infants (5.0) to die during the first year of life during 2011-2013 (average).
