Funding the Critical Mission of March of Dimes
March of Dimes was born out of a national health pandemic, and today there’s no organization better positioned to meet people where they are right now. The focus of our work has evolved over the last 80 years – from finding a polio vaccine to our current fight for healthy moms, strong babies and health equity – the need for our vital work remains a constant. As we find our nation in the midst of COVID-19, the relevance and importance of what we do is more critical than ever. It all starts – literally – with moms. Today, we are meeting families where they are by advocating for policies to protect moms and babies, working to radically improve the healthcare they receive, pioneering research to find solutions, empowering families with knowledge and tools to have healthy pregnancies and being their resource when things don’t go according to plan.
Bundles of Joy
Bundles of Joy will raise critical funds for the March of Dimes mission and enable us to support immediate needs in our community. Due to COVID-19 visitor restrictions, many families don’t have the resources to connect virtually with their loved ones during a maternity or antepartum hospital stay or with babies in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Your gift would help the families stay connected and fund our mission by ensuring our health education and family support resources such as our online maternal and infant education, our award winning News Moms Need Blog, our online education videos, the MyNICUBaby App and Share Your Story are available.
We have a $100,000 Campaign Goal to support the vital work of March of Dimes and help us provide a Bundle of Joy to local area NICUs this holiday season.
Each bundle will include
- 50 sleep sacks and safe sleep education to be given to families when they leave the NICU.
- 50 meals for NICU healthcare professionals to thank them for being a hero for babies.
- 10 March of Dimes Caring Connection Tablets to help families stay connected while in the NICU and get access to March of Dimes digital content and support communities.
- March of Dimes printed NICU education and support materials for families
Your Support Can Make a Difference
Now more than ever, we must continue to fight for the health of moms, babies and their families. Delivery won't wait. We invite you to consider making a meaningful investment in March of Dimes through a gift to our Bundles of Joy campaign in San Antonio.
With your support, we will be able to continue our lifesaving work through full mission support, as well as provide much needed education, resources and technology to local partners. Together with your gift, we can help families stay connected and provide support to those who need us most.
Our campaign goal is $100,000 to ensure four area hospitals receive a full Bundle of Joy with March of Dimes resources, education and support. Your gift, at any level can make a difference; gifts at these levels can help make an impact in the following ways.
- $100 donation that can ensure a NICU graduate will receive a Halo ® Sleep Sack and safe sleep education materials.
- $500 donation that can help 5 families feel at ease in the NICU with support and education materials.
- $1,000 donation that can provide a preloaded tablet with March of Dimes digital education and support, including our MyNICU Baby App, and video chat functions to help keep families connected and supported virtually.
- $5,000 donation can support completing a Bundle of Joy. Your gift would help us ensure 10 sleep sacks, 15 meals, and 2 tablets plus printed education and support materials are able to be donated to a local NICU.
- $10,000 donation can support completing a Bundle of Joy. Your gift would help us ensure 20 sleep sacks, 30 meals, and 5 tablets plus printed education and support materials are able to be donated to a local NICU.
- $25,000 donation can provide a FULL Bundle of Joy for an area NICU including, 50 sleep sacks, 50 meals for healthcare workers, 10 March of Dimes tablets and NICU printed education and support materials.
