PRAMS Data Updated!

PeriStats has been updated with 2012-2017 data from the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) dataset.

PRAMS is a surveillance system from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that is collected and administered through participating state health departments. Data presented on PeriStats can be searched by maternal race/ethnicity, maternal age and Medicaid status.

Variables that were updated include:

  • Alcohol use, before and during pregnancy
  • Smoking, before, during, and after pregnancy
  • Smoking, quit during pregnancy
  • Medicaid coverage, anytime and prenatal care and before pregnancy
  • Uninsured, before pregnancy
  • Hypertension
  • Vitamin use
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit admission
  • Breastfeeding
  • Contraception use
  • Diabetes
  • Postpartum follow up
  • Pre-Pregnancy Oral Health
  • Infant Sleep position
