Perinatal and Late Fetal Mortaltiy rates updated

PeriStats has updated perinatal and late fetal mortality rates, 2014-2017. Perinatal mortality is defined as death to a fetus that is over 28 weeks of gestation and infants up to one week old. Late fetal mortality is defined as a death occurring after 28 weeks gestation but before birth. Perinatal and late fetal mortality are reported per 1,000 live births and fetal deaths.

The Perinatal Mortality and Late Fetal Mortality indicators can be queried by maternal age, race and race/ethnicity.

Two sources were utilized to calculate these counts and rates (see below).
