Natality data updates on PeriStats

PeriStats has been updated with the most current data on several birth outcomes. These include an update to preterm birth, birthweight, and delivery method. Additionally, current data is now available for prenatal care utilization, birth rates, singletons and multiples, and population data.

PeriStats has been updated with 2016 natality data set from the National Center for Health Statistic (NCHS), as compiled from data provided by the 57 vital statistics jurisdictions through the Vital Statistics Cooperative Program.

These topics are available for all geographic areas and by maternal age, race, and race/ethnicity.

Also available are county preterm birth rates calculated using gestational age based on obstetric estimate (OE) for 2013-2016 and low birthweight rates by county (2013-2016).

PeriStats Tip: Don't forget to check out the contextual statements below each map, graph or chart that explain the data in words.
