2018 PRAMS Data Update

PeriStats has been updated with 2018 data from the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) dataset.

PRAMS is a surveillance system from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that is collected and administered through participating state health departments. Data presented on PeriStats can be searched by maternal race/ethnicity, maternal age and Medicaid status. Variables that were updated include:

  • Discussion about breastfeeding
  • Discussion about breastfeeding
  • Discussion about birth defects screening
  • Pre-pregnancy diabetes
  • Pre-pregnancy hypertension
  • Pre-pregnancy depression
  • Breastfeeding
  • Breastfeeding duration
  • Safe sleep position
  • Postpartum checkup
  • Postpartum depressive symptoms
  • Alcohol use before and during pregnancy
  • Maternal Smoking- before and during pregnancy and quit rates
  • Intended pregnancy
  • Vitamin use
