Quick Facts: Preconception/Interconception (PRAMS)

Preconception refers to the time period before a woman is pregnant, and interconception is the time period between pregnancies. A woman's preconception and interconception health can impact her baby's health during pregnancy and in the future. Before pregnancy, women and their healthcare providers can identify and manage chronic risk factors, like diabetes, hypertension, and depression, and discuss lifestyle choices to ensure a healthy and safe pregnancy.
