• During 2013-2015 (average), the low birthweight rate in Rhode Island was highest for American Indian/Alaska Native infants (11.6%), followed by blacks (10.6%), Hispanics (7.8%), Asian/Pacific Islanders (7.7%) and whites (6.3%).
