• In Rhode Island in 2011, 22.4% of women in households with an annual income of less than $10,000 had a pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) classified as obese, compared to 26.1% among $10,000-$24,999, 16.8% in $25,000-$49,999 and 16.8% in $50,000 and over.
