• Among mothers whose infants were discharged within 48 hours after delivery in Alabama in 2003, 63.4% of mothers under age 20 reported an infant checkup within one week of discharge, compared to 59.1% of women ages 20-24, 64.4% of women ages 25-34 and 63.7% of women ages 35 and older.
