Pampers and March of Dimes

Addressing maternal health inequity in the U.S.

Mom holding baby

For 20 years, Pampers has been a key corporate partner of March of Dimes dedicated to helping every family get the best possible start, regardless of race. Today, our partnership is rooted in addressing the staggering U.S. maternal mortality rate, which is more than double that of most other high-income countries.

A significant racial disparity exists in the U.S. with Black women being 2.5x more likely to die from pregnancy complications compared to White women. More so, 80 percent of all pregnancy-related deaths are preventable. Through a strategic collaboration, March of Dimes and Pampers are developing solutions to affect systemic changes, raise awareness, and increase resources to advance maternal health equity.

March of Dimes Implicit Bias Training

In 2022, Pampers doubled its support of March of Dimes accredited implicit bias training, Awareness to Action: Dismantling Bias in Maternal and Infant Healthcare™, for healthcare professionals.

This training provides healthcare professionals with important insights to recognize and mitigate implicit bias. These actions can result in improved patient-provider communication, overall patient experience and quality of care, and a culture shift across committed organizations toward the broader goal of achieving equity for every mom and baby.

Maternal HealthCARE Initiative

Pampers proudly sponsors the Maternal HealthCARE initiative, a public-private partnership with March of Dimes and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to improve maternal health outcomes and advance equity.

Pamper’s will support four new Community Accountability Panels (CAP) in two states that will pair community feedback with process improvement to acceler¬ate change. Through CAP, birthing families and community members can speak to the needs of their respective communities, which is an indispensable part of creating lasting change in the experiences birthing people have in hospitals.
