Biography

Dr. Rupsa Boelig is a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist and clinical researcher. She's an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Research Unit at Thomas Jefferson University Center City campus. Her research has focused on the prediction and prevention of preterm and preeclamspia, which are pregnancy complications that she has battled personally and professionally. She's specifically interested in how therapies can be better targeted to provide the most benefit for each individual. She applies principals of clinical pharmacology to pregnancy specific research to improve our understanding and treatment of pregnancy related conditions. In addition to preeclampsia and preterm birth, Dr. Boelig’s research includes optimizing therapies for opioid use disorder, iron deficiency, and COVID-19 in pregnancy. Her research is funded by NICHD, EW Thrasher Foundation, March of Dimes, Pharmacosmos, and Covis Pharma.
