Biography

Dr. Khosrow Adeli is a senior scientist and academic clinical biochemist with over 30 years of experience in clinical chemistry service, education, and research. He has held numerous leadership positions within the fields of clinical biochemistry and laboratory medicine over the course of his career, with an established track record in both basic and clinically oriented research. Within his clinical program, Dr. Adeli has been leading a national initiative to establish a comprehensive database of reference intervals to improve the accuracy of medical decision-making in the pediatric and adolescent populations. Known as CALIPER, this program has broadened to include studies focusing on early childhood reference interval development, post-vaccination COVID-19 immune response, and the establishment of reference intervals in healthy pregnant women. He has published more than 600 articles and abstracts, and is currently the Editor-in-Chief for Clinical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, the #1 ranked journal in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology. Dr. Adeli is currently a full professor at the University of Toronto, Division Head of Clinical Biochemistry at the Hospital for Sick Children and the president of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC).
