The Phoenix Mom & Baby Mobile Health Center® is a partnership with Wesley Community & Health Centers and the Arizona State University Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. The Phoenix metropolitan area encompasses Maricopa and Pinal Counties and the city of Phoenix—Arizona’s largest city and the fifth largest city in the nation. While Arizona has experienced significant population growth over the last decade, social drivers of health such as housing, transportation, nutrition, healthcare costs, and poverty levels have exponentially increased. The Phoenix Mom & Baby Mobile Health Center bridges these critical gaps to accessing high-quality healthcare in underserved communities in the region.

The mobile health unit serves as a place of care and provide valuable clinical experiences for undergraduate nursing students and nurse practitioner students. The students apply their knowledge to seeing patients in the mobile health unit under the direction of the dual appointed ASU Edson College nurse practitioner faculty member.

Wesley Community & Health Centers is a community-embedded primary healthcare system, operating at multiple locations throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan Area and providing services as a Federally Qualified Medical Center (FQHC) since 2009. Wesley Health focuses on providing high-quality healthcare to everyone, regardless of financial means, offering an array of primary care services to traditionally underserved communities across the Valley.

The Arizona State University (ASU) Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is dedicated to preparing future health professionals who work together across disciplines within complex and dynamic health delivery systems. Edson College offers 17 degree programs in Nursing and other health topics, such as community health and healthcare coordination. Through degree programs, community partnerships, and lifelong learning courses, Edson prepares both current students and practicing healthcare professionals to meet the changing needs of our health sector and the communities we serve.

The Phoenix Mom & Baby Mobile Health Center is made possible by funding from UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona.
