In early 2024, the mobile health clinic was taken out of service for much-needed updates and improvements, including a significant interior renovation. Patient care resumed in April, but patient volume was limited until the latter half of the year when the program was able to re-establish itself in the communities it serves. Additionally, Medicaid expansion in Maryland has allowed more patients to access much-needed benefits for pregnancy and postpartum care, with more patients on the mobile clinic having their services covered. This has, however, compounded a reduction in patient volumes as more patients are able to access care at brick-and-mortar locations. Altogether this is an extremely positive improvement in the maternal and infant health landscape in Maryland and the capital region.
