Mobile Health Impact Report

There are nearly four million births in the US each year. Access to consistent, high-quality maternity care is an essential component of maternal health and positive birth outcomes, yet over 500,000 pregnant people receive inadequate maternity care each year, corresponding to 15% of live births.

There are a multitude of factors contributing to lack of access to care. Regardless of the reason, all families should have access to the care they need. Mobile Health is a proven model in the US and has been utilized across the country to enhance access to care. However, only 2% of the country’s mobile programs offer maternal health services.

March of Dimes Mom & Baby Mobile Health Centers facilitate collaborative partnerships across multiple sectors and efficiently allocate financial and human resources—and directly meet pregnant people and families in their communities, minimizing barriers to accessing care.
