Easing Trauma at the Bedside: Supporting Families in Crisis
addresses the critical ways frontline staff can interact with families in the NICU or PICU, and best provide support to diffuse volatile moments, ease interpersonal tension and deliver bad news in the best way possible. How to support families showing signs of perinatal mood disorders or post-traumatic stress syndrome will be discussed.

  • Understand the different types of emotional distress commonly developed by parents, including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder
