Elimination of non-medically indicated (elective) deliveries before 39 weeks gestational age: Quality improvement toolkit
This comprehensive manual supports hospitals in eliminating non-medically indicated deliveries before 39 weeks. It includes a review of professional literature, a step-by-step implementation guide and strategies for measuring and tracking quality improvement over time.
Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait® (HBWW)
Initiated in 2011, HBWW is a campaign to educate women with healthy pregnancies about the importance of waiting at least 39 weeks to give birth. A key element of the campaign is to engage the community through collaborations among local- and state-level clinical and public health partners. To help individuals and organizations initiate HBWW programs in their areas, the March of Dimes created HBWW: Preventing Preterm Births through Community-based Interventions: An Implementation Manual. Download the manual and start an HBWW program in your community.
Preterm labor assessment toolkit
The objective of the toolkit is to standardize the assessment and diagnosis of preterm labor among health care professionals. If your hospital or birthing center would like to adopt the standards contained in the toolkit, consider working with your local March of Dimes chapter. To find your local chapter, click here.
Toward improving the outcome of pregnancy III (TIOP III)
Improving the quality of perinatal care requires applying evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines throughout the course of a woman's life. TIOP III illustrates strategies and interventions that incorporate robust process and systems change, including the power of statewide quality improvement collaboratives that are improving perinatal outcomes.
