TJ’s Baby Chicks
2016 Kent County Ambassador Family
“I first started participating in the March of Dimes March for Babies in April of 2008. I joined with Tammi Brode with the family team "Skye's the Limit". I walked for two years with this team. Skye Brode was born on 3/29/2007 weighed 1 lb. 1 oz., was only 11 inches long, and was on ventilators to help her breathe. Skye started out in Christiana Hospital and ended up in A.I. duPont Hospital for Children before she was able to come home.
Six years ago, I formed my own team, TJ's Baby Chicks. My team loves to do fundraisers and raise money to help the March of Dimes. We also volunteer with activities and on the day of March for Babies in Kent County. The March of Dimes has also helped with many of my family's babies that have been born too early and weren't able to go full term. We currently have friends who have babies in the NICU that we're born much too early. The baby boy weighed 2 lbs 4 oz when he was born, and is currently doing well. The other baby is a girl who is doing great! She weighed 1 lb 6 oz at birth.
I am so thankful for all the help and support the March of Dimes has provided though our family's hard times.” Tammy McGinnis, Team Captain
