Senator Inouye To Serve As Honorary Chair of March of Dimes 75th Anniversary Roosevelt Legacy Wall

September 18, 2012

Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii), left, met in late July with John Henry Felix, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of the Hawaii Medical Assurance Association and a former chairman of the March of Dimes Foundation Board of Trustees, to discuss the senator’s role as honorary national chair of the Roosevelt Legacy Tribute Wall Campaign, a component of the March of Dimes 75th anniversary initiatives in 2013. Senator Inouye will join Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, granddaughter of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who founded the non-profit organization, as an honorary national chair of the Roosevelt Legacy Tribute Wall Campaign. The March of Dimes, the leading non-profit organization for maternal and infant health, plans to hold a year-long celebration of activities to honor President Roosevelt and others who helped establish the Foundation for their leadership in supporting the health of mothers and newborn infants. The Legacy Wall of historic photos will acknowledge new donors who help the March of Dimes continue to fund research, education, vaccines, and breakthroughs. Senator Inouye, a longtime champion of maternal and infant health, has been honored with several awards for his contributions to the health of moms and babies.
