March of Dimes Names San Diego Business Owner Crystal Sargent Event Chair of Annual Signature Chefs Gala for 2nd Consecutive Year

March of Dimes is pleased to announce that Crystal Sargent, President and Founder of Invested Advisors, will return as event chair for the annual Signature Chefs Gala, one of San Diego’s most anticipated charity food events which will take place Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Del Mar Race Track. As the event chair, Ms. Sargent will play an integral role in raising awareness and funds to advance the scientific research and educational programs at the core of March of Dimes efforts to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies. With 25 years of experience as a brand and business builder in the financial services sector, and as a business owner supporting public agencies and private enterprise, Ms. Sargent is known for positioning organizations as top brands and helping them grow into that space through a disciplined process, collaborative relationships and creative excellence.

The United States is in the midst of a maternal and child health crisis, with more than 380,000 babies born prematurely each year, as well as more than 50,000 women experiencing life-threatening complications as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. March of Dimes is working in communities across the country to reduce the rising rates of premature birth, as well as maternal mortality and morbidity, supporting women before, during and after pregnancy to ensure all moms and babies are healthy.
“We are grateful for Crystal’s support,” says Heidi Lang, San Diego March of Dimes Executive Director. “This year, under Ms. Sargent’s leadership, we introduced the Pediatric Compassionate Care Nurse Award to the Gala.” Ms. Lang continues, “We are also grateful to work with these talented chefs who are artists, innovators and philanthropists.”
Eleven of San Diego’s most innovative chefs are bringing their passion to this year’s Signature Chefs Gala. The Signature Chefs Gala begins at 4:00 p.m. with an extraordinary tasting of San Diego’s most desirable cuisine, followed by a seated dessert program and a rousing live auction, offering an opportunity to bid on unique experiences and exciting travel and leisure packages.
