Jack and Josephine Daddio and their parents Kyle and Katie have been selected to lead March for Babies on April 21, 2018 at City Park in Denver, Colorado.

The birth of a baby is one of the most exciting life experiences and most deliveries are happy occasions. Unfortunately, far too many babies are born too soon and go on to struggle with serious, life-threatening issues. March of Dimes is working to change that.

The Daddio family has endured not one, but two premature births.  Jack was born three months early and weighed less than two pounds. He faced numerous setbacks while in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) but remained strong and after 121 hard fought days, he was released to go home. Today Jack is a healthy four year old. Then, four years later, baby Josephine was born at 26 weeks and spent 91 days in the NICU. Josie required oxygen support at home for another five weeks. Josie celebrated her first birthday in March.

Kyle is inviting the community to join his family at March for Babies saying, “March of Dimes is an amazing organization that has given so much to my son, my daughter, and my family through medical and emotional support. March of Dimes funded research helped develop surfactant therapy, which was given to both Jack and Josephine as they battled Respiratory Distress Syndrome during their first days of life.”

March of Dimes gives 4 million babies born each year the best possible start. Nearly half a million of them are born prematurely or with birth defects. Premature birth and its complications are the largest contributors to infant death in the U.S. and pregnancy-related death has more than doubled over the past 25 years. From advocacy to education to research, we’re working to level the playing field so that all moms and babies are healthy.

The March for Babies community bands together to fight for the health of all moms and babies. We raise funds and awareness so that we can solve even the toughest problems. Every March for Babies participant is a leader who has the power to make a huge difference for families.
