Effort for March for Babies
Kennewick, WA (June 16, 2015) — Energy Northwest employees raised $34,000 for March for Babies, securing the top corporate fundraising spot for 2015. The event raises awareness and important funding to provide for babies who are born premature or with birth defects.
“We’re all proud of the support demonstrated by Energy Northwest employees during this campaign,” said Mark Reddemann, Energy Northwest CEO, who became chair of the event earlier this year.
March for Babies, the March of Dimes largest fundraiser, helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies. Last year Energy Northwest raised more than $19,000. This year, Reddemann, along with Brent Ridge, chief financial officer, focused on building employee participation. Through the leadership of the EN March of Dimes Committee the EN team raised an impressive $34,000, making a difference for the health of moms and babies.
“Energy Northwest is the only organization in the Tri-Cities to offer a payroll deduction option to employees,” said Ridge. “Because of our success with this option, March of Dimes now plans to offer it to other companies for future campaigns.”
Hundreds of people attended March for Babies on April 25 at John Dam Plaza in Richland. They gathered to celebrate, honor and remember our babies. Fundraising for this critical mission continues online at www.marchforbabies.org.
“We’re so appreciative of Mark’s leadership this year for March for Babies,” said Nicki Kennedy, division director for the March of Dimes Washington Chapter. “He has a passion for our mission and helping our babies. We are grateful for his commitment and for the support of every Energy Northwest employee.”
March for Babies is sponsored nationally by Kmart, Famous Footwear, Macy’s, Cigna, Mission Pharmacal and United Airlines.
Our local sponsors include Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Energy Northwest, Lockheed Martin, Mission Support Alliance and GESA Credit Union.
