AWARD-WINNING CHEF KAITLYN C. ROBERTS NAMED AS MARCH OF DIMES 2018 SIGNATURE CHEF

Chef Kaitlyn (Kait) C. Roberts, Founder and Proprietor of Easy Entertaining and the Café at Easy Entertaining, has been chosen by a group of Rhode Island’s top chefs and March of Dimes as the 2018 March of Dimes Signature Chef.  Together with her fellow chefs, who represent some of the region’s best restaurants, Kait will showcase her prodigious culinary talent as chef honoree at the 2018 Signature Chefs Auction. The event hosted at The Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, will be held on Thursday, September 27 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  

Signature Chefs Auction is widely regarded as Rhode Island’s premier charitable culinary event and features an evening of elegance and incredible food in a peerless setting – The Aldrich Mansion.  Signature dishes and wine tastings are provided by more than twenty- five of Rhode Island’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurant partners. Their offerings are complimented by a silent and live auction which offers unique, once-in-a-lifetime packages to guests who comprise some of the area’s most philanthropic individual and corporate citizens.  Their generosity and willingness to Fund Our Mission is focused on one thing – a future of Healthy Moms and Strong Babies.  

About Kait Roberts

Kait grew up predominately in Rhode Island, but her love affair with food first began in her Grandfather’s kitchen in upstate NY, breaking down steaks and bathing everything in butter in his private kitchen he built outside the home so her grandmother wouldn’t “bother him."

Roberts completed her formal culinary education in 2006 at Apicius Culinary Institute in Florence, Italy with whom continued to work. She has also cooked for the James Beard House in NYC. She holds an advanced degree from London’s Wine & Spirits Education Trust Program.

Roberts continues to lead luxury, culinary and wine tours for groups of curious foodies annually in Italy with her friend and business partner, Jessica Granatiero.

From its founding in 2006, Kait has grown Easy Entertaining, aided by her Executive Chef, Ashley Scungio, into a gourmet catering company, known as the “chef’s choice,” for catering.  Six years later, in 2012, Kait, helped by Chef Ashley, opened The Café at Easy Entertaining, a vibrant and sustainable café on Providence’s west side, serving breakfast and lunch during the day and hosting private functions in the evening.

Today Kait and her creative culinary team have grown to 30+ employees.  This business flourishes as a female-driven, employee friendly company whose goal is to bring the incredible bounty of Rhode Island to each and every guest.

Nowadays Kait and her husband, Jameson, together with and their fur baby, Gus call Providence home.
Impact of Funds Raised by Signature Chefs Auction

Funds raised by Signature Chefs Auction help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) family support programs, local education, outreach programs, health equity initiatives and advocacy efforts for moms and babies.
