March of Dimes Welcomes Ashley Wendt as Maternal Child Health Director for South Carolina
(Columbia, S.C., May 31, 2017) – The March of Dimes is pleased to announce that Ashley Wendt will serve as Maternal Child Health Director for South Carolina. Most recently Ms. Wendt was the Chief Strategy and Analytics Officer at MHP Salud, a small national nonprofit. Previous experience includes supporting community health programming in the states and abroad; serving as a volunteer with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua, evaluating HIV/AIDS programs with the United Nations Development Programme in Belize, and managing MCH programs across multiple states. A native South Carolinian, Ashley earned her Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health and International Health and Development from Tulane University in New Orelans, as well as a BS in Biology from the College of Charleston. Ashley is also an active volunteer, serving as Executive Director of Help Educate, an all-volunteer international non-profit who provide access to higher-education and leadership development for Nicaraguan youth. She is also a member of the Charleston Junior League where she serves on the Fund Development Committee.
