Albert Einstein College of Medicine Honors Dr. Alan R. Fleischman

March of Dimes Medical Director Alan R. Fleischman, MD (l.) received Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Alumni Association Lifetime Achievement Award (Einstein, class of 1970) at Einstein’s graduation ceremonies on June 2 at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. Dr. Fleischman is clinical professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology & Population Health at Einstein. He is picture with (r.) Allen M. Spiegel, M.D. The Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

As an alumnus and faculty member, Dr. Fleischman was honored for promoting and exemplifying Einstein’s standard of educational excellence, dedication to diversity, and commitment to patients and community. Dr. Fleischman joined the Einstein faculty in 1975 and served as director of the Division of Neonatology until 1994. He also serves as chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee, and as Ethics Advisor to the National Children’s Study being conducted by the NIH Child Health and Human Development. With major contributions in the fields of pediatrics and research ethics, Dr. Fleischman is an expert in public health policy.
