Philips Avent and March of Dimes are calling on communities to “Share the Care”—bridging the support gap for moms during the postpartum period and beyond.
Together, we share a vision to ensure every family feels supported through early parenthood. Philips Avent, a global leader in mother and child care products, and March of Dimes, the leading organization committed to improving the health of moms and babies, are building a modern-day village that prioritizes maternal mental health and reimagines what community care can be.
In 2025, March of Dimes and Philips AVENT partnered to conduct a study examining the invisible load of early parenthood and the role communities play in caring for moms during the postpartum period and beyond.
The support gap is real. Key findings from the study include:
• 90% of people would help if asked, yet 6 in 10 moms struggle to express their needs
• 2 in 3 parents say the first three months after birth are when they need the most help
• Nearly 20% of moms reported no support beyond their partner
• Of those who did receive help, 42% said it wasn’t enough
• 3 in 4 Latina moms say it’s difficult to speak up about their needs, and half experience
• 90% of moms of an infant or toddler say self-care is essential, but 8 in 10 get less than an hour of personal time per day
• Most new moms want support with mental and emotional health (postpartum depression, feelings of isolation, decision fatigue) and self-care and recovery (breaks, light exercise, therapy)
These insights fuel Share the Care, a national awareness campaign closing the gap between parents’ need for help and communities’ willingness to offer it. By uniting Philips Avent’s innovation with March of Dimes’ leadership, this partnership ensures moms don’t walk their journey alone—because when moms thrive, babies and families do too.
