Our mission
March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. Today, we're striving to end maternal health risks and death, end preventable preterm birth and infant death, and close the health equity gap. The maternal and infant health crisis is real—but so is our impact. From providing access to quality health care to mobilizing our community to create lasting change for moms and babies, we're ensuring families can get the best possible start.

Houston's mission in action
• Houston has three NICU Family Support® programs that provide in-person support and education to NICU families, healthcare provider training, and improved patient experience. Our site locations: The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.
• March of Dimes is addressing access to care issues moms and babies face in Harris County through our Mom & Baby Mobile Health Center. In collaboration Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Memorial Hermann Health System, we are bringing healthcare to underserved moms and moms-to-be on-the-go with services beginning January 2025.
• Through Houston Collective Impact Initiative, March of Dimes is training and mentoring women of color to become community-based doulas with a goal of providing specialized care and support to women who might not otherwise have access to such services. By partnering with local government, state leaders, corporate health partners, and community-based organizations and stakeholders, our Local Collective Impact Initiative confronts challenges by building solutions to achieve health and racial equity for all moms and babies.
