Fundraising Ideas for Students by Students

Fundraising Ideas for Students by Students

The best part of do-it-yourself fundraising is that you choose want you want to do to support families. Create a fundraiser with your community of friends, schoolmates and neighbors around your favorite spin class, hike or other fitness activity. It’s good for you and great for moms and babies.

Think about what types of events are successful at your school and if there are opportunities to get other businesses or students involved. Below you’ll find some idea starters created by students. Be sure to share your ideas and events with us by tagging @Marchofdimes on your preferred social media.

Go Project Runway®

Organize a fashion show that features clothing from local stores. It’s a great way for stores to showcase their clothes. Prom and formal wear are naturals. Hold your event in a central location and use the admission fee to raise money for March of Dimes.

Change War

This is an easy fundraiser that both beginner fundraisers and seasoned veterans can accomplish with relatively little effort. Use a jar or a baby bottle that you already have and us it to collect change. This is a great one for classrooms!

Mile of Dimes

To set up your Mile of Dimes, measure out 5,280 feet of ribbon, which is equal to one mile. Have donors place dimes side by side on the ribbon until it is completely filled. Once you’ve done that—congratulations! You’ve just raised more than $9,000!
