Support Moms, Birthing People, and Babies in MA
Here in Massachusetts the March of Dimes is fighting for the health of all moms, birthing people, and babies.
In 2021 our community raised over $1M, which helped us make the following efforts possible:
+ Extended Medicaid coverage to 365 days postpartum. This is a huge stride in ensuring that all birthing persons have high quality access to care.
+ Locally led implicit bias trainings for healthcare workers at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital, Boston Public Health Commission, and more. Attendees came from a broad range of professional backgrounds in an effort to close the health equity gap at all patient touchpoints.
+ We are hard at work preparing to open a new March of Dimes NICU Family Support® program at Boston Medical Center in 2023. As the largest safety net hospital in New England, many patients come from low-income and/or non-English speaking households.
These are only some of our local accomplishments, and with your help we can do even more for families in the Commonwealth!
