PROJECT DETAILS

The March of Dimes in South Carolina leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. In March 2020, some of our clinical obstetrical partners contacted our organization requesting help to enable telehealth for eligible women at their practices in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. As a leader in supporting innovation and improvements in care for pregnant women, the March of Dimes is working quickly to assist these practices.

One major component of prenatal care visits, particularly later in pregnancy, is regular monitoring of blood pressure. High blood pressure is a sign of pre-eclampsia, or pregnancy-induced hypertension, which is a life-threatening condition to both moms and babies. Therefore, women need to have a blood pressure cuff to report their blood pressure to the telehealth nurse.
