COVID-19 Safety Policy for March of Dimes Events

For Both Adult Participants and Parents / Guardians of Minor Participants (under 18 years of age)

By participating in a March of Dimes event, you acknowledge and agree to abide by March of Dimes Event Health and Safety Protocols (Part 1 below) and our COVID-19 SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND RELEASE AND CONSENT (Part 2 below).

1. EVENT HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

From supporting foundational research into a vaccine for polio to driving research regarding prematurity and maternal health risks, March of Dimes is dedicated to maintaining healthy workplaces and communities for all persons. To that end, we are adopting a COVID safety policy to safeguard the health of our employees and their families; our donors, volunteers and partners; and the community at large from COVID-19.

MOD event guidelines follow Federal guidelines as the minimum together with venue, state, or local guidelines, if more stringent.

To protect the health of our March of Dimes event participants, March of Dimes has adopted the following COVID safety policy requirements for indoor and outdoor events:

Indoor Events:

All participants are required to:

  • Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, OR
  • Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR testing is preferred, but if not available or feasible, an FDA approved antigen test is acceptable) AND
  • Be at or below the CDC temperature threshold via a temperature check at the door, AND
  • Wear a mask during the event (see additional information on Masks at the end of this document)

Outdoor Events:

Masks are not required where participants are able to practice social distancing.  Where participants are not able to practical social distancing, participants are required to wear a mask. Please be aware that March of Dimes will not check vaccine status, require proof a negative test, or perform temperature checks for outdoor events.

2. COVID-19 SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK,
AND RELEASE AND CONSENT

Please carefully read the following. By attending a March of Dimes event, you acknowledge and agree as follows, including the following release and waiver of claims.

I confirm the following facts are true - I am 18 years of age or older. I am the Parent or Legal Guardian of any child/children attending the event with me. For myself and accompanying child/children (if applicable), and in consideration of attendance in activities held or sponsored by March of Dimes Inc. (“MOD”) (the “Event”), I agree as follows:

COVID-19 SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

While participating in Events, attendees should follow all health and safety guidelines required by March of Dimes and the event venue, including “social distancing” and mask requirements. Wearing face coverings at all times reduces the risks of exposure to COVID-19, regardless of the individual’s vaccination status.  Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, MOD has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  However, I acknowledge that MOD cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

HEALTH CERTIFICATION

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within either of the following categories should not engage in the Events.

By attending an Event, you certify that neither you nor any child/children in your group (if applicable) do not fall into either of the following categories:

  1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others; and
  2. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.
