Breastfeeding the Healthy Newborn (2008)

Discusses the benefits of breastfeeding for infants, children, mothers, families and society. Describes techniques for supporting the breastfeeding dyad in the preconception, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Addresses special conditions, including hyperbilirubinemia, dehydration, weight gain, insufficient milk supply, engorgement and fatigue. Provides information on maternal nutrition, maternal and infant separation and breastfeeding support technology. 4.3 contact hours will be awarded for this activity unil 12/31/2015.
