David “D.J.” Hampton II, Esq., has been appointed Chief Development Officer for the March of Dimes Foundation, it was announced today.
Mr. Hampton was most recently Senior Vice President of Development at The ALS Association, where he led the strategic development and restructuring of ALS development operations. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade with United Way, where he assumed increasing responsibility, serving in four different development positions, ultimately as Director, Major Donor Relations at United Way Worldwide.
“D.J. is an expert at building relationships and is highly skilled at motivating donors, staff and volunteers,” says Stacey D. Stewart, President of the March of Dimes. “He has a proven track record with major gifts and planned giving, and will be a leader in helping us to focus the March of Dimes on sustained revenue growth now and in the future.”
Mr. Hampton holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in community service administration from Alfred University. Additionally, he holds a juris doctor degree from David A. Clarke School of Law at University of the District of Columbia and is a member of the D.C. bar. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
