PeriStats has been updated with the most current data on several birth outcomes. These include an update to: preterm birth, late, early and very preterm birth and overall distributionbirthweightlow birthweightvery low birthweightprenatal care including adequacy distribution, early and late care, and inadequate care PeriStats has been updated with the 2019 natality data set from the National Center for Health Statistic (NCHS), as compiled from data provided by the 57 vital statistics jurisdictions through the Vital Statistics Cooperative Program. These topics are available for all geographic areas by maternal age, race, and race/ethnicity. For birthweight calculations plurality data is available. Also available are county preterm birth rates calculated using gestational age based on obstetric estimate (OE) for 2016-2019 and low birthweight rates by county (2016-2019).
