CELEBRITY CHEF HOLLY SMITH TO HEADLINE TRI-CITIES SIGNATURE CHEFS AUCTION
More Than Twenty Top Local Chefs and Wineries Join Forces For Ultimate Foodie Fête and Fundraiser for Stronger, Healthier BabiesKennewick, WA, September 10, 2013
Celebrity chef Holly Smith of the Food Network’s Iron Chef America will lead an exquisite evening of culinary adventure at the 2013 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction taking place Saturday, September 28 at the Pasco Red Lion Hotel from 6:00-11:30 pm. The event celebrates the March of Dimes 75th anniversary and pays tribute to the area’s culinary scene with an evening of featured chef demonstrations, signature dish and wine tastings, and live auction entertainment. Tri-Cities TV personality, Porky Thomsen, will host this exciting epicurean experience.
Special guest, Chef Smith, introduces the evening during a pre-event VIP Reception at 5:00 pm along with Robert Smasne of Smasne Cellars who was named 2013 Washington Winery of the Year by Wine Press Northwest. The main event begins at 6:00 pm with a stellar lineup of chefs from many of the area’s most prominent restaurants. Their signature dishes will be complemented by a wide variety of wines from several area vintners. A seated dessert and live auction of exclusive “bucket list” items including travel, fine jewelry, and specialty experiences will round out the evening’s festivities.
Event proceeds benefit March of Dimes education, research and advocacy programs designed to ensure all babies have a healthy start in life. “The Signature Chefs Auction is a unique opportunity to experience the breadth of culinary talent in Tri-Cities while celebrating our 75th anniversary and supporting a great cause,” said Event Chair Scott Boynton of Mission Support Alliance. “The evening is not only one of the top charity events of the year but a top epicurean event, as well.”
