Jimmy Boozer will serve as Chairman for the 2014 March for Babies in Beaufort. He is committed to helping reach the event goal of $96,000 to support March of Dimes research and community programs to help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies to begin healthy lives. March for Babies will take place on April 12th, 2014 at Naval Heritage Park in Port Royal.
“When you participate in March for Babies, you are helping the March of Dimes continue working for stronger, healthier babies in our community and across our state. The money we raise supports programs to help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It also funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our state’s babies,” said Boozer. “I’m serving as the 2014 Chairman for March for Babies because I believe if we can give a child a healthy birth, we are making a positive impact on their future quality of life. I challenge Beaufort County businesses and families to join me in raising critical funds so more families will know the joy of having a healthy baby.”
“We are honored to have the support of Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Beaufort Pediatrics,” said Boozer. “When our local businesses and families come together for March for Babies, they show the whole community the value of volunteer service and community involvement. Most importantly, they are helping more families know the joy of having a healthy baby.”
Premature birth is the most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. It affects more than half a million babies each year. One in seven babies in Beaufort County is born prematurely. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.
Each year, the South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes invests in mission initiatives statewide, including research grants and local community services. Through these program services, the March of Dimes continues working to prevent birth defects and infant death, reduce South Carolina’s premature birth rate, increase access to prenatal care and educate men and women about having healthy babies.
In Beaufort, March for Babies is sponsored by Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Beaufort Pediatrics. For more information on becoming a sponsor, please contact Jimmy Boozer at 843.521.3891 or email@example.com.
