Publix Customers and Associates Support March of Dimes
Cutout campaign runs April 6-27 and supports stronger, healthier babiesColumbia, SC, April 03, 2013
Publix Super Markets, Inc. is working alongside the March of Dimes for stronger, healthier babies, and the grocery giant will ask its customers to join them in their quest during their annual fundraising campaign from April 6-27.
The cutout campaign coincides with March for Babies, the March of Dimes signature event, which occurs on April 27 in most areas. Associates will sell the cutouts at the checkout and ask customers to sign their name or the name of a baby they love, creating an impressive in-store display.
“Our customers and associates have trusted us to support organizations and programs that make a difference in the communities in which we live and work,” said Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations. “We are passionate about the health and wellness of our customers and supporting healthier moms and babies is an extension of who we are. We are proud of our partnership with March of Dimes and thankful for the research and advocacy they are able to provide our communities and beyond.”
Publix is the #2 March for Babies Team in the country. As one of the 10 largest-volume supermarket chains in the United States, with over 157,500 employees in 1,070 locations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee, Publix customers and associates raised an incredible $4.5 million in 2012 and $43 million since 1995 to help give all babies a healthy start and educate moms-to-be about the importance of taking the B vitamin folic acid.
“As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we honor Publix as one of our most valued partners. Their corporate commitment to the community is matched by their associates’ enthusiasm for this campaign,” said Julie Laird, Regional Vice President, March of Dimes. “The dollars raised are vital to continuing the lifesaving research, advocacy and education that we provide to professionals and families. We love shopping in the stores during the campaign and seeing their impressive displays in support of healthier moms and babies.”
