The March of Dimes also paid special tribute to the courageous nurses of the Moore Medical Center. On May 20, 2013 the City of Moore took a direct hit from a F5 tornado leaving in its path total destruction. But the courage that was shown at the Moore hospital, is beyond all comprehension. On that day 20 nurses put aside concerns for their well-being and did what nurses do every day, care for others. But this time, they did it in the middle of total chaos resulting in the destruction of the very building in which they were standing. March of Dimes presented a plaque to these brave men and women. Accepting the plaque was Mr. David Whitaker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norman Regional Healthplex, and the 20 nurses that were on duty that unforgettable day.
Just as nurses work tirelessly to improve our lives, the March of Dimes works tirelessly to see the day when all babies are born healthy.
