Through lifesaving research and programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, we have made great strides in giving every baby a fighting chance. The preterm birth rate in the United States declined by more than 10 percent between 2006 and 2013. Teams of brilliant researchers at our five Prematurity Research Centers are getting us closer than ever to finding the causes of and the preventions for premature birth. The March of Dimes has advocated for moms and babies to achieve a record-breaking 125 legislative and regulatory wins. And we currently offer comfort and support to families with a baby in newborn intensive care in more than 130 hospitals nationwide.
Thanks to the generous support of volunteers, donors, sponsors and partners, we are taking on the serious problem of premature birth and other challenges that affect newborns to make a difference.
