Bikers Set to Ride the River Road
St. Louis, Missouri, July 11, 2013
Hundreds of motorcyclists will hit the streets for the 11th Annual Metro East Bikers for Babies on July 27, 2013. Riders from across the area will join together for a beautiful tour down the Great River Road in Illinois, from Alton to Grafton, in support of stronger, healthier babies.
The ride will start at Ted’s Motorcycle World in Alton and end at Hawg Pit BBQ Barn in Grafton. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and it’s kickstands up at noon. Bo Matthews, radio personality from 92.3 WIL, will serve as emcee and the event features food, drinks, music, raffles and much more.
Support from participants will benefit the lives of babies and families like the Martins, a 75th Anniversary Ambassador Family for 2013. Trygg, son of David and Maryanne Martin, was born 14 weeks early. He had a collapsed lung and was on both a ventilator and oscillator during his first weeks of life. Today, Trygg is a healthy, happy little boy. According to Maryanne, “We are so grateful for all of the work March of Dimes does for babies. Not only do they fund research for medical breakthroughs but they help throughout the rollercoaster ride of being a NICU parent.”
Last year’s event helped raise nearly $45,000 for March of Dimes and had over 500 participants.
Nationwide, more than 35,000 people will participate in Bikers for Babies rides across the country.
