Mercantile Bank of Michigan is Presenting Sponsor for 2014 Signature Chefs Auction.Grand Rapids, MI, August 11, 2014
Great food, great company and a great cause will be celebrated with class on Monday, November 3, at the 2014 March of Dimes Signature chefs Auction at DeVos Place. Presented by Mercantile Bank of Michigan, the gala will feature exquisite eats from West Michigan's top chefs, as well as exciting live and silent auction and raffle items.
Matt Zimmerman, Senior Vice President - Corporate Banking, knows how important the March of Dimes mission is. As a father of a premature baby, he and Mercantile Bank of Michigan got involved with the March of Dimes to raise awareness and important funding to prevent premature birth, birth defects, and other serious infant health problems.
"Premature birth is the most serious infant health problem in the United States today," explains Ginger Feldman, Executive Director of March of Dimes for West Michigan. "It affects more than half a million babies nationwide each year, with more than 15,000 in Michigan alone. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or battle lifelong disabilities. We are so excited to have Mercantile Bank of Michigan to help with Signature Chefs Auction. Their passion for the cause and commitment to helping our babies will be a huge driving factor in the success of our event."
2014 Signature Chefs Auction presented by Mercantile Bank of Michigan helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. Last year, the Grand Rapids event raised more than $253,000 – this year, the auction committee hopes to bring in even more by setting a goal of raising $300,000.
