Volunteers Make NICU visits in honor of World Prematurity Day
Westborough, MA, November 22, 2013
As part of the annual Day of Gratitude on November 16, approximately 70 March of Dimes volunteers from around Massachusetts came together to deliver thank you baskets to eight level 3 NICUs and one level 2 NICU.
These baskets were delivered to thank the NICU doctors, nurses and staff in honor of World Prematurity Day, which was celebrated worldwide on November 17. Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Mass General Hospital, South Shore Hospital, Baystate Medical Center, UMass Memorial Hospital and Lowell General Hospital were the recipients of wonderful baskets filled with treats and items for the staff and NICU families, generously donated by the volunteers.
Papa Gino’s pizza was delivered to each NICU by the March of Dimes as a way of saying thank you. The NICU staffs were extremely grateful for the visits and the baskets. The March of Dimes is very thankful for its amazing volunteers who gave their time to come together for this special day.
