Donate your cell phone
The March of Dimes is recycling cell phones to raise money to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
What kind of phones do you accept?
All cell phones.
Is there a way I can erase the personal data from my phone before I send it?
Yes, The Cell Phone Data Eraser gives you the tools you need to remove personal information like contact names and phone numbers from your old cell phone.
What happens to my phone?
Collected cell phones are refurbished or recycled. The refurbished phones are sold and proceeds are used to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. The older, unsalvageable phones are disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
Why should I recycle my cell phone?
Electronic waste is the most quickly growing waste concern worldwide. The average life span of a cell phone is only eighteen months. On average 130 million cell phones are retired annually in the U.S. alone. Therefore, cell phone recycling is imperative. Nationwide, it is estimated that only 1% of retired cell phones are recycled or reused.
The remainder litter closets, drawers, and unfortunately landfills. Cell phone recycling has even become a requirement in some states and counties. California has enacted legislation that requires retailers to accept obsolete and retired wireless phones from consumers at no charge. In addition, New York also has legislation that requires wireless telephone service suppliers to accept obsolete and retired cell phones at no charge to the consumer.
What if I don't have the charger and other accessories for my cell phone?
You can still send in your wireless phone alone and it will help raise funds for the program you are working with. Keep battery attached to phone. If battery is not attached to phone, place tape over terminal ends.

Donate your car, truck, van, bus, boat or motorcycle to the March of Dimes and keep us on the road to finding out what causes premature birth and birth defects. Fast, free towing from all 50 states! To ensure that your donated vehicle is headed in the right direction, follow these tips:
- Donate only to charities with a name you know and trust. Be careful of confusing legitimate charities with others that have soundalike names.
- Check that the charity receives at least 70% of the proceeds from donated vehicles.
- Confirm that your vehicle will be handled by licensed and insured tow companies and dealers.
- Limit your liability: Sign the title directly to the charity or their agent. Never leave the title blank!
- Ask how the funds will be spent. The March of Dimes Foundation spends 76% of activities on research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies lives.
