Planned Giving
Leave a legacy
Planned gifts are of vital importance in maintaining our tradition of making a difference in communities across Ontario.
In fact, many planned gifts that were thoughtfully prepared by our donors in the past are funding the programs that are breaking down barriers today.
What is a planned gift?
The most common type of planned gift is a charitable bequest in a will, but more Canadians are realizing the benefits of giving through methods such as:
- gifts of publicly-traded stocks and mutual funds;
- life insurance policies;
- gift plus annuities;
- charitable remainder trusts;
- gifts of residual interest and real estate.
Why choose a planned gift?
- It is a thoughtful and well-planned way to show your support;
- It can be tailored to your personal and financial circumstances;
- It is made from assets, not current income;
- It has tax advantages under current laws; and
Most planned gifts are held in trust and invested in one of our endowment funds.
We would be happy to discuss with you and your advisors the best way to ensure your gift fits your desires, financial objectives, family needs and tax situation.
Please be assured that any discussion is confidential and will not obligate you to make a gift.
