Easter Seals Ontario and Ontario March of Dimes have commenced Phase 2 of Project Continuum with funding from The Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The purpose of Project Continuum is to explore options to maximize the resources of both organizations and provide a more seamless continuum of services for children, youth and adults with physical disabilities in Ontario.

Phase 1 resulted in the development of a strategic alliance business model for ES and OMOD to deliver a continuum of services together. Phase 2 will further develop the programs and services associated with the following five projects:

• Life Stage Transition Services: this project entails the development of a model to enable youth and young adults with physical disabilities to link to a continuum of services and navigate the matrix of adult services providers.
• Equipment Funding Program: this project will look at the provision of a continuum of access to and enhancement of the equipment-funding programs of both agencies to serve children, youth and adults.
• Recreation Services: this project will help increase access to recreation opportunities and enhance programs for youth & young adults in transition from children’s programs to adult recreation.
• Potential IT Shared Services: this project will work on a detailed analysis for potential cost savings and efficiencies from shared IT services.
• Potential Purchasing Shared Services: this project will work on detailed analysis for potential cost savings and efficiencies from shared purchasing services.
  
  Aperio Consulting has been re-hired to lead Phase 2. They will be involving key staff from both organizations in workshops to develop the various projects, service models, memorandums of agreement, and data collection and analysis.
