2014 Grateful GRANDparents
Wilmington, DE, May 09, 2014
The Delaware Chapter of the March of Dimes is proud to announce the 2014 Grateful GRANDparents: Judy and Lynn Kiehl (Armstrong Army), Diane Rash (Tyler's Titans) and Frank Strawser (Team 3 Peas in a Pod). These walkers for March for Babies raised at least $1000 for their family teams. The grandparents were recognized with pins and ribbons stating "I raised a GRAND for my Grandbabies!" and their grandchildren wore ribbons that said "I have a GRANDparent who loves me."
Lynn (PawPaw) and Judy (Grammie) Kiehl have been walking for March for Babies for the last 9 years as members of Armstrong Army. The family team has raised over $33,000 to help babies in honor of Alex (born 4 weeks too soon), Zach and Connor (born 12 weeks too soon) and in memory of Alex Fallon, team member Kathy Armstrong's nephew who watches over the team from heaven.
Diane Rash has been walking for March for Babies for the last 4 years in honor of her grandson, Tyler and in memory of his twin sister, Madison. Tyler was born 17 weeks too soon weighing 1 lb 6 oz. Tyler's Titans has raised over $27,000 for March of Dimes.
Frank Strawser has been helping babies by walking and fundraising for the last 10 years. Frank started walking with his daughter, Kristen Black, when she was pregnant with her oldest son, Andrew. They now walk as Team 3 Peas in a Pod in honor of Owen and Ethan who were born 4 weeks too soon. Frank has raised over $23,000 for babies!
We thank Grammie, PawPaw, Diane and Frank for their dedication to the March of Dimes and their grandbabies!
